I'm not going to pay just to make a poll

Fri Nov 13, 2009, 7:24 PM
What's MORE important in comics?

_Story/Emotion
_Technical Skill

Also

-If anyone knows a good online store for nibs please tell me

I'm feeling all "eghh" because today someone answered the above poll to me. Of course, someone else on another forum said the opposite answer of the one I got today. I wanted to know how people feel comfortable with their choices. I felt comfortable with the one I heard TODAY'S choice a long time ago. The other I've recently felt grinding into me based on what a bunch of really...Really experienced people say.

  • Mood: Angsty
  • Listening to: QualiaSoup
  • Reading: Vinland Saga
  • Watching: The Soup
  • Playing: Nothing
  • Eating: Nothing
  • Drinking: water

What I enjoy doing is drawing cartoons and parodies, as I have for years. the first adjective to come to mind is "Unproffessionally".

I have 3 sets of characters, I use one the most often and I love it the most, although I intend to nurture the other two. The decision to post these was kinda difficult, as I feel a mix of apprehensions such as the skill level not ever being adequate, whether the subject matter would be accepted, and other neurotic little things that probobly will always hold me back.

I can, however draw other things if I do say so myself, but my problem is I don't want to. Most of the time that is, I enjoy reading about anatomy and perspective when I want to, but when others tell me I NEED those things, all desire of drawing drains from me. It's a hassle just trying to enjoy myself.

Anyway, hopefully I can use DA as a stepping stone to perhaps a website, or what I've always wanted, my own fanbase. Although, I've been told being liked is only an extra compared to one's own satisfaction in drawing...Well, I really want that extra, and hopefully it will be for something I want to do.

Hey man I finaly got a moment so I got to read all of b---------h I really like it!! ur expressions and use of close ups and pan out panels is really good! But i think ur lines for sure need more weight to them and such as well more backgrounds and a bit of shading too =)
:icontcandfriends2:
Thanks for reading it! Yeah lol I've been letting a bit off on the backgrounds so I'm going to try to put in some more and stuff. And I'm getting better at shading, but whatever the weight thing, oof I'd really like to try that since a lot of my friends have been telling me I need thicker lines and crap which is fine, but I don't have any really thick nibs! And my art stores don't have it either. If you have any suggestions PLEASE give them to me, like an online store, my nibs suck and are starting to break :(
